How to create a sub domain in cPanel

Now that you have got your web hosting space you may need to have sub domains to separate parts of your site. Sub domains are useful for when you want to add parts to your site which differ from the main site. Perhaps your main site is a shop but you wish to have a forum as well. You could have your shop at yourdomain.com and you forum at forum.yourdomain.com There are may other reasons you may want a sub domain and in this short tutorial we will show you  how simple it is to create your own using cPanel

Login In to cPanel

Visit your cPanel address, for Ultimate Forum Hosting customers simply type yourdomain.com/cpanel in to your browser and you will be redirected to your cPanel automatically for other hosting services this may vary.

Find the Domains Box

Scroll down the cPanel home page until you find the Domains box shown below:

Now click on the Subdomains icon (shown above with a blue box around it)

Type in the Desired Sub Domain

On the next page you will have a form at the top asking you for your new sub domain, enter the sub domain for example we are going with demo.ufhosting.org so we will enter demo in to the box.

The Document Root box will auto-fill for you, cPanel will let you know if the option you have chosen is possible by giving it a green tick, this is shown above.

Click the Create button to create the Sub Domain

Confirmation

On the next screen you will receive confirmation that your sub domain has been created.

CONGRATULATIONS you have created your very first sub domain, you can now click the Go Back button to return to the cPanel home page.
